Scott through our communications agency helped us create and then in 2018 to update our Careers website. This Careers website helps with recruitment of team members for our Hardee’s restaurants. The challenge was to appeal to prospective employees via good content and even social media by providing relevant, useful information on the company and the company’s culture. It shows a company where employee contributions are valued and hard work is rewarded. There were challenges about how to attract applicants over a wide geographical area. Scott came up with suggestions and tools he built into the website to help with those challenges. We’re very happy with the outcome and our website is a valuable asset in helping us attract restaurant team talent.

Scott did a terrific job with our PR agency’s website. Our team was looking for an impactful design that would showcase our work and do so with a clean, uncluttered look. My film history with Thomas Scott Layman extends for about 12 years. Scott and I were the producing duo behind the first two projects I ever wrote for the screen — “Party of 50” (2013) and “I’ll Have Another...” (2016). Our hard work paid off, for both feature and short film found their way into some national film festivals. Viewers of each film tended to chime in with the following comments and questions — “I enjoyed the ‘look’ of this film.”....”I like the way that shot was framed.”....“Who was your cinematographer?”.... “How did you achieve that lighting? Was it natural or filtered in post production?” ALL of the aforementioned can be attributed to the masterful eye, keen preparation, and creative lensing of Thomas Scott Layman.

I have worked with Scott for over 23 years. For 16 of those years he has been my Creative Director. Scott is not only a highly talented and skilled graphics guy, he’s right there with the best of them when it comes to website design as well as video shooting and editing. Best of all, he is fun to work with, ego and pride of authorship never get in the way of a great end product and he never raises his voice or gets in a surly mood. On top of all this, his rates are reasonable, he works fast and efficiently and he never pads his invoice...a lot of ".bang for your buck.".

I have worked on projects with Scott for 10 years. Most of the projects I was involved in were related to customized software he built from the ground up for us to help generate batch or lot specific labels as well as to provide customer facing testing results of the products the customer can access. He always was thinking ahead not only on just the project but how it tied into current and potential future business needs. Scott works as your partner and provides feedback and alternative ideas that frequently improve upon your original idea. I first met Scott in 2011 on the set of Spielberg’s Lincoln and admired his creativity. When I decided to run for Richmond City Council a few months later, I called him because he was accomplished in photography, film, graphic and web design. He was able to put together a broad campaign that included logo, direct mail, palm cards, buttons, yard signs, etc. Scott’s great work contributed to my win in 2012 and reelection in 2016. I called on Scott’s services again for our needs with the Capital Region Land Conservancy and continue to do so today.

We have worked with Scott for over 14 years. He developed our first website and now recently completed an update on that same website. Both times he has taken ideas in my head and make them into reality, no matter how crazy they sound. During those 14 years, our website has always been at the top of search engines, generating website leads, phone calls, and most importantly sales. What I really like about working with Scott is his knowledge and ability to quickly learn new programs and ideas that we integrate into the website. Beyond websites, Scott have also custom designed all of our print literature from brochures, rack cards, catalogs and prices lists.
